Lavon Victor Gransden ( July 22, 1930 - March 15, 2017 )

Lavon Victor Gransden, 86, of Edenville MI, passed away on March 15, 2017 at the Saginaw VA Hospital. He was born on July 22, 1930 to the late Lyle and Flora (Swanton) Gransden. On July 29,1958, he married his wife Bettie Joyce Branch who preceded him in 1995.
Lavon attended school at Edenville through 9th grade and graduated from Midland High School in 1949. He then attended Bay City Junior College. Lavon joined United States Air Force in November 1950, serving 3 years Japan and Korea as a crew chief of a B29. After returning home in 1954 he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. He worked in the family business until retirement in 1997. He was life member of the VFW and the American Legion. He also was a member of the Air Force Museum Foundation and The Pacific Air Weather Sq. Association and was Who’s Who Book of 2000.
Lavon is survived by his brother Galen; and 2 nephews Glen and Keith and 1 great nephew Gabriel and 2 great nieces Natalie and Alaina.
Lavon was predeceased by his brother Alden and sister in-law Margaret Gransden and nephew Gary Gransden.
We would like to give a big thank you to the staff in the palliative care unit of the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Hospital in Saginaw for the wonderful care of Lavon and also the staff of Midland Hospital and Medilodge in Midland.
There will be a Military service at Old Edenville Cemetery on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11AM. Military honors will be under the United States Air Force and the Midland County Vetereans.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Edenville Museum.
