David Roy Carlson ( September 1, 1935 - July 25, 2017 )

David Roy Carlson passed away on July 25, 2017 at Candlestone Assisted Living. He was born on September 1, 1935, the son of Edith (Anger) and Roy Carlson.

David grew up in Midland graduating from Midland High School Class of 1953, Michigan State University and earned a Masters of Business from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.

David served as a pilot for three years in the U. S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant. David spent his working life in sales, first with Federal Mogel Corp., Maremont Corp. and then 23 years as the owner of auto parts stores in Greeley, Colorado.

On August 18, 1962, he married Paula Bodendorfer in Columbus, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife Paula, two children, Sue (Mark) Boyter and her children, Brianne (Evan) Cline, Andrew, Christian and Molly Morrison. Their son, Steve and his children Terry, Samantha and Austin Carlson. An uncle and aunt Lee and Lillian Anger, sisters in law Wilma Ford and Gretchen (Robert) McCormick and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws William and Pearl Bodendorfer and brother-in-law David Ford.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. A family remembrance will be held in Greeley, Colorado at a later date. Memorials in David’s honor may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of one’s choice

David’s family would like to thank the caring staff at Candlestone for the wonderful care that he received while there.
