Dona Marie VanSteinburg ( April 11, 1928 - August 17, 2017 )

Dona Marie (Wansitler) VanSteinburg, 89, of Midland, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2017 at Brittany Manor. She was born on April 11, 1928 in Midland to the late Elias and Murrel (Cupp) Wansitler in Ohio. She married Clinton Douglas VanSteinburg in April of 1946. Doug and Dona had 3 sons, Paul (Kathy) VanSteinburg, Charles and Kevin VanSteinburg.

Dona enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful caregiver to her family and friends. Dona spent the last 10 years of her life at Brookdale, first in assisted living and later in memory care. She made friends with many wonderful caregivers and staff there. She was a lifelong member of Midland Nazarene Church.

Dona is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy VanSteinburg, two grandchildren, Lisa (Roger) Latulippe and Eric (Patty) VanSteinburg, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Dona’s husband and three sons preceded her in death. Her brothers, Glen and Charles and sister, Norma, also, preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly Street with Pastor Chuck Jacobson officiating. Dona’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of service.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider MidMichigan Home Care Hospice or Midland Nazarene Church.
