Kenneth D. Noble ( July 19, 1934 - August 29, 2017 )

Kenneth (Ken or Kenny) D. Noble, passed away on August 29, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born at home in Muskegon on July 19, 1934, to the late Charles and Edith (Teaford) Briggs. On June 24, 1956, he married Dora J. Hassen.

Ken worked as a foreman or superintendent in underground construction for Bowen & Milas, Inc. and later for HRP Construction. He was a lifetime member of the Church of God (Seventh Day) and was an active leader for the local congregations in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and Freeland. Ken was involved in his community as a Fire Chief for Moorland Twp., a board member for Spring Vale Christian School, and a Boy Scout Leader. He was a gentleman farmer and an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking, and loved hunting and fishing with family. He also enjoyed reading and studying his Bible, doing crosswords puzzles, and playing cribbage. His favorite pastime was to simply be with family.

Ken is survived by his wife Dora Jane; children: Keith (Sylvia) Noble, Bruce (Pamela) Noble, Kendra Noble, Jeffery (Patricia) Noble, daughter-in-law Marion (Brian) Noble; grandchildren: Bethany (Aaron) Coulson, Joshua (Brenda) Noble, Caleb (Blake) Noble, Nicholle Noble / (Steven) Johnston, James Noble, Angela (Tyson) Fauth, Joanna (Steve) Thomas, Sarah (Brad) Newton, Erin (Darrel) Walters, Brendon (Jordan) Noble, Brittany Noble, Amber (Nate) Arend, Jeffery Noble II, Benjamin (Elizet) Noble; great grandchildren: Grace Coulson, Faith Coulson, Abigail Thomas, A. Brian Coulson, Hannah Thomas, Peter Coulson, and Andrew Thomas. He is also survived by his sister Bonnie Morey, his dog Zach, his cat Gus, and various Remingtons, Ithacas, and other outdoor essentials.

Ken was predeceased by his beloved son K. Brian Noble, and his brothers and sisters: Chuck Briggs, Gene Briggs, Jack Noble, Jim Noble, Dolly Dayton, Louella Hogan, Myrtle Lamb, and Betty Degner.

A memorial service will take place at Freeland United Methodist Church, 205 E. Washington Rd, Freeland, 48623, on Friday, September 1, 2017, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Andrew Fernandez officiating.
