Wallace J. Brzenk, Jr. ( April 16, 1943 - October 25, 2017 )

Wallace J. Brzenk passed away on October 25, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was born in Detroit, MI on April 16, 1943 to the late Walter and Helen (Kuliszc) Brzenk. On April 16, 1966 he married Jacquelyn MacInnis.

Wally loved coaching and was a high school football coach for 36 years. He was an athletic director for St. Veronica grade school, varsity football coach at Nortre Dame High School and coached at North Wood University. He also coached at Breckenridge, Coleman, Beaverton, Farwell, Bullock Creek, Bay City Western and Meridian High Schools. Wally was a National Football Spot Checker for the Detroit Lions for 25 years. He loved dog hunting and field Trialing and won a national championship with his dog. Wally was an avid traveler and the President of the Star Touring Motorcycle Club Chapter 266. He served his country in the United States Navy and worked for the Detroit Police Department undercover in Tac Ops and also in private security companies.

For Wally it was about being a good person and commitment and never giving up and trying your hardest. He touched a lot of people.

Wally is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn, daughter, Michelle Gouge, grandchildren, Sydnie, Samantha and Shelby. He is also survived by his sister Christine Ellis, sister-in-law Terri Studebaker, nephews, William MacInnis, Sean Ellis, Michael Ellis, nieces, Stephanie Studebaker, Jamie Studebaker, aunts, Bee Hall, Olga Siembab and several cousins.

Wally was predeceased by his son, Michael J. Brzenk, brother, Phillip G. Brzenk, brother-in-law, Lee MacInnis and nephew, Curtis MacInnis.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 11:00 am at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Fr. Andrew Booms officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Military honors will be under the auspices of the United States Navy and Midland County Veterans.
