Dorothy Northrup ( June 3, 1927 - November 15,2017 )

Dorothy Northrup, 90, of Midland, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on November 15, 2017. She was born on June 3, 1927 to the late Victor and Burteen (Ettinger) Chaney.

Dorothy was passionate about her family, Sunday school, her Midland Nazarene Church, Sam’s Food Pantry and watching her sons play ball. She loved her grandkids. Dorothy was a fierce and feisty woman. Her first instinct was to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves. She lived her life doing what she felt was right and with no apologies.

Dorothy is survived by her children; Michael (Sandra Johnson) Northrup, Stephen (Paula) Northrup, Patricia (Curtis) White, Pamela (Renee Reinke) Northrup, grandchildren; Terry Parsons, Jamie Kennedy, Todd Northrup, Scott Northrup, Christy Long, Brent White, Andrew White, Kelly Brandt and 15 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia (Edwin) Frisbie and brother-in-law, Milo Frisbie.

Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings; Mildred (Don) Leonard, Lois Frisbie, Francis (Bud), and Fredrica Chaney.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Midland Nazarene Church with Pastor Chuck Jacobson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3 pm until the time of service.

A special thanks and gratitude to Dorothy Pinner and her prayer warriors.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Youth Program or the Benevolence Fund at Midland Nazarene Church.
