William Paul Lake was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born on September 25, 1935 to the late William and Barbara (Frare) Lake.

Bill served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1965. He continued serving others in the New York City Fire Department and retired as a Fire Marshal after 23 years.

In 1981, Bill moved his family to Spring, Texas to begin a career in Corporate Safety and Security Management. He retired for a second time in 2000 and moved to Midland Michigan to be closer to his grandchildren.

He met Beverly, the love of his life, while he was a fire fighter; and they married on May 2, 1964 in Center Moriches, Long Island, NY. They shared a beautiful life together for 54 years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Beverly (Andrews), five children; William, Peter (Kelly), Michele (Michael), John and Gabrielle (Joshua), six grandchildren; Andrew, Allison, Natalie, Luke, Isabel and Sophie, and sister Barbara (Matthew) Kelly.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Griffin officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home from 4-7 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30 pm and on Monday, at the church, from 10 am until the time of service.
