Mark A. Mast ( August 23, 1958 - July 1, 2018 )

Mast, Mark A. Bay City, Michigan age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Bay City on August 23, 1958 to Earl & Elise (Gall) Mast. Mark graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1976 and Olivet College in 1980 with a BS degree. He later graduated from Wayne State Mortuary School in 1984.Mark operated Valley Services Co. in which he assisted area funeral homes and families. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served on the board of directors for Lutheran Child and Family Services. An avid University of Michigan sports fan, he also enjoyed NASCAR and time with family. He is survived by his parents and two sisters, Debra & Paul Rooke of Nicholasville, KY and Lisa & Bob Ranger of Ann Arbor, MI. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 3 nieces and nephew, Maegan & Trent Waltz, Melisa-Beth & David Wagers, and Scott Ranger & Alissa Ranger as well as great niece and nephews, Collins, Amelia, & Andrew Waltz. Mark will also be missed by many close friends & relatives and forever remembered by his special friend, Sandy Kennedy of Gaylord, MI. He was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, Scott Mast & Beth Mast, and grandparents, Arthur & Martha Mast and Clarence & Anna Gall. Funeral Services will be held Friday July 13, 2018 at 11 am from Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Kevin Jones presiding. Visitation will held Thursday at Rivertown Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 pm and on Friday from 10 am until time of service. Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in memory of Mark to Immanuel Lutheran Church, McLaren Heart Services, or the donor's personal choice.
