Theodore T. "Scrib" Scribner, 80, of Midland, passed away at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013
Scrib (Ted) was born on July 16, 1932, the son of the late Claude A. and Cleo (Handley) Scribner in Hammond, IN and moved to Michigan when he was 5. He met his wife, Rose Moreno, when he was 9. They married 60 years ago in Mt. Pleasant on April 26, 1952. He graduated from Shepherd High School in 1951, where he was an outstanding athlete.
Scrib retired in 1995 after 44 years at The Dow Chemical Co. as a multi-craftsman. He enjoyed following local sports as well as the Detroit Tigers. He and his wife enjoyed dancing weekly.
Scrib is survived by his wife, Rose and three daughters, Debbie Hepinstall and the late Gary Hepinstall, Claudeen (Frank) Petroski and Diane (Buck) Love.
"Gramps" will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jodi Hickerson, Scott Hepinstall, Jacob (Christin) Petroski, Sarah (Travis) Rundle, Karmen (Cody) Love and Nicole Love.
He especially enjoyed his great grandchildren, Dakota Hickerson, Tyler and Rachel Rundle and Ava Petroski. His yorkie Sophia Rose will miss him.
He was predeceased by his parents and his siblings, brothers Duane and Kermit Scribner, sisters, Margie and Lola Scribner; in-laws Dan and Rose Moreno.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February23, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Eddie Dwyer Celebrant. The family will receive friends at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, on Friday, Feb. 22 from 4 until 7 pm. and on Saturday at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the University of Michigan Cardiology Department or the donor's favorite charity in Scribs honor.
